    Selenicereus in a hanging pot

    Product Details

    Description

    Selenicereus in a hanging pot
You wouldn't think if you buy this succulent plant, an epiphyt that originally grows on trees in the Caribbean, small, but it can become a giant, a jumble of snakes that wriggle along everything that stands in their neighborhood!
Water only water the queen of the night when the earth is dry. Your selenicereus Grandiflorus will rot from too much water. Do not you want to. The recipe is approximately as follows: between November and early March you put your Selenicereus Grandiflorus on a diet with a dash of water once a month. In March you build up again with first twice a month and when the sun increases nicely in heat (May) a dash every week. Note: always give water again when the earth is really completely dry. From October you will reduce again, until you stop watering again in November. If your queen of the night is going to wrinkle and shrink, then he will probably have received too little water. Then immerse his root ball in a bowl of water, make sure that the root ball sucks itself full of water and then leave it alone until the root ball is dried out again. Certainly if it is nice in the sun in the summer, you should not be afraid to give too much water, then it can be quite nice to drink. And know: no water, no growth! If your selenicereus Grandiflorus will be weak and it will rot, then you have probably given too much water.
Light and location a lot of sun, yes please! Morning sun, afternoon sun, Queen of the Night likes all the sun. The more daylight, the better. If you have no sun at all, it will slowly come to a halt. He stops growing, becomes selig, languishes away. If you have a very sunny spot right behind a window on the south, then it is advisable to let a new Selenicereus Grandiflorus get used to that box of sun, because it says at the grower (or at the previous owner) Slightly more protected place. And yes, you can also see a succulent or cactus: brown, dried places. So first put it in that bright sun for an hour, the following week two hours in that hot afternoon sun, and so on until you leave your fat plant in that sizzling place.
Humidity for the queen of the night you really don't have to make the air more moist, it thrives completely in dry living room air. Putting a different story on top of the hot heating air is also a fat plant from that. That dry, hot heating air also extracts moisture from selenicereus Grandiflorus. So in the winter you see your fat plant shrinking and it is above the heating: give it a dash of water.
Toxic? Unfortunately, you should not eat Selenicereus Grandiflorus.
Little is known about the air -purifying effect of Selenicereus Grandiflorus. But what does it matter, queen of the night you have to wind through life with you. And proven: plants around you reduce your stress levels and increase your creativity, productivity and concentration.
Nutrition succulents can go with very little food, there is enough in good potting soil. Mixing houseplant food twice a year through your irrigation water is sufficient.
Diseases most common with Queen of the Night is root rot. And rot is usually caused by giving too much water. Do you suffer from rot: stay away with that watering can! Although rotten on the plant often means the end of story. Another cause of rot: a bacterium that has crawled your succulent plant. That can happen via a wound in the leaf. So always do your plant carefully, even during repotting, for example.
Origin Selenicereus Grandiflorus is originally an epiphyt, a plant that grows on tree branches, from the Caribbean.
This selenicereus is in a 21 cm hanging pot, and the height of the plant is 30 cm and including the pendant, the height is 60 cm.
