Description
Beautiful orchid with many small flowers, grown in a greenhouse without gas.
The Phalaenopsis Multiflora is one of the few plants that purifies the air during the night. This is because it is a cam plant that, in contrast to all other green plants, absorbs CO2 in the night to grow. That is because his stomata are open during the night, because the humidity is often too low during the day and therefore his stomata is closed. In our nursery we mimic this completely. Because we do not use gas to heat and do this with a heat pump, we save 40% on our energy consumption. This heat pump ensures that in the summer we store the heat in the bottom in the summer and raise it again in the winter to heat.
Place the plant in a light location, but not in the bright sunlight. Not on the trip or above a heating. Temperature between 15 and 25 degrees. Not near Fruit. This produces ripening gases, so that the flowers wilt faster. Immerse the plant in lukewarm (preferably) rainwater, let it suck for 10 minutes and then let it drain well. Then the orchid can safely be without water for 14 days. Make sure there is no water in the decorative pot, because the Phalaenopsis does not like wet feet. A little orchid food once a month.
This plant comes with the Fair Flora label. A fair flora plant is a fair and sustainable plant. The environmental impact is calculated and is actively improved. In addition, CO2 emissions are compensated and the nursery is actively working on CSR. Via Fair Flora, the grower receives a fair price for the product, so that further sustainability is made possible. In addition, a part of each product sold goes to one of the charities of Fair Flora. I am Maurice van der Hoorn, grower and owner of Van der Hoorn Orchideeën in Ter Aar in the middle of the Groene Hart. I breed the Phalaenopsis Multiflora, one of the most famous families of the Orchid. We do this in a special nursery that is completely sustainable. The heating and cooling in the greenhouses is done by using groundwater that is located at a depth between the eighty and one hundred meters in the bottom.
