Carnivorous plants in a mix tray
Most carnivorous plants love a wet swampy environment, so put your plants in a layer of water. A depth of 1 to 5 cm of rainwater is the best or use distilled water or soft tap water. Hard water is not good, because the mineral salts hope in the ground and there are the roots of rot. Never use plant food such as Pokon, because the plants naturally grow in very nutrient marsh soil. That is also the reason why they catch insects: they give the plants enough food. Do not give the plants pieces of meat, because here the falls are going to rot. You can feed them living insects if they are inside and there are not many insects, but that is not necessary.
Most carnivorous plants love full sun, in which they get their best color, flowers and healthy growth.
In the winter, some carnivorous plants, such as the Venus fly trap, Sarracenia, and hardy pinguicula and drosera, undergo a rest period. Do not give the plants too much water during this period (just enough water to keep the compost moist), to prevent mold growth and rotten. These plants need a rest period to produce flowers in the spring and can be grown outside. Only with severe frost should they be protected.
Remove dead or brown leaves to prevent mold. Leaf lice can be a problem in the spring on young shoots, but they can be removed by hand or with a brush that you first baptized in the sticky mucus of a sunshine. You can also spray the plants with water in which you have added some washing -up liquid.
